How To: Factory Reset a Poly Device

Factory Reset with Admin Password

  1. Press the Home button
  2. Use the arrow keys to navigate to the Settings
  3. Press on Advanced
  4. Enter the admin password (456 is default)
  5. Press Administration Settings
  6. Press Reset to Defaults
  7. Press Reset To Factory
  8. The screen will prompt Are you sure? Press Yes

NOTE: You can skip the whole menu process by pressing and holding 1, 3, 5 (the key combination may vary based on device model, see the table below) on the keypad from the home screen. The phone will then prompt for the admin password to reset.

Factory Reset without Admin Password

Before beginning, turn the phone over and make note of the MAC address of the device you're attempting to reset. This MAC address will be used in this process:

1. Reboot the phone by unplugging the power and reapplying the power

2. During bootup you will see and press the Cancel button

3. A timer will begin, you must quickly press and hold down a key combination depending on the device model:

4. Holding down the correct keys during boot will prompt you for an admin password

5. The MAC address of the device will be used as the admin password

NOTES: Entering the MAC address can be tricky, you must switch between numeric and alphanumeric entry modes in order correctly enter the MAC address. For the letter F, for example, you must switch to alphanumeric mode and press the number 3 three times.

 

6. Once the correct MAC address is entered as the admin password, press Ok, the phone will reset.
