Templates created through SNAPBuilder are utilized to give a certain key configuration to many phones at once.

Templates must be created on a per device model basis. So if your Sales team has 3 different types of phone models, you may end up creating 3 different templates for that department.

You may need elevated phone system adminstration access to complete these steps. 

Creating the Template

Navigate to Phones > SNAPbuilder > Manage configuration templates

In the pop-up window, fill in the Template Name field and select the device Model

Within SNAPbuilder you can then set up the template however you'd like, including directory sorting, line keys, BLFs, Speed Dials, Sidecar configurations, etc. Then, press Save

Applying the Template

Within the Phones tab, check all the boxes for the phones you'd like to apply the template to

Then click on SNAPbuilder > Apply a template to selected devices

In the pop-up window, select your newly created template, and click Apply or Apply and Resync

Apply = Only the server config file will update, the phone(s) will still need to be resynced

Apply and Resync = Server config file will update and phones will be sent a command to reboot
