In some cases a user may have two or more desk phones, one user can have multiple phones assigned to a single extension. To do so, you must create other "phones" in the users profile and assign the MACs. Once this is complete you can set up the answering rules to work however the user wants.
Adding a Phone
1. Navigate to the users profile under the Phones tab
2. Click Add Phone
3. The phone must have a letter suffix, in this case A
(the next phone may be B
, then C
, etc)
Do NOT use the following letter suffixes, they are reserved for the mobile app:
i, ia, ib, m, ma, mb, wp
4. Add the model of the phone
5. Enter the MAC address of the device (located on the sticker on the back of the phone)
6. Click Save
Configure the Phone Keys
7. Click on the Easy Keys gear icon
8. Click Yes
9. In the Line Appearances, consider entering the users extension, otherwise the end-user will see 133a, or 133b, etc.
10. Enter any other configurations the user may need/want
11. Click Save and Resync
NOTE: the phone may not receive the "resync" command after this configuration, you may need to reboot it manually for it to come back online.
Configure the Answering Rules
Visit the user's profile again under Answering rules and click Edit
12. Ensure the setup is correct for the user, in this case the user wants ring all anytime their extension is called. It is configured for Simultaneous ring and including all phones.
13. Click Save.
The Answering Rules should now appear like this:
